Whispers In The Wind was inspired by the quote regarding my conclusion about life itself, and that Sometimes The Very Thing We Have Been Searching For Was Staring Us Right In The Face The Whole Time. Which not only resonated in my heart, but also sparked one of the most thought-provoking inspirations derived from moments of deep reflection during various trials and victories alike, stimulating this expression.
This ideology was also shaped and derived from a personal observation and awakening that there have been so many times when profound truth, realization, intuition and insight often show up or are revealed and born through some of the most simple ways imaginable through basic connections, friendships and circumstances.
Those gentle nudges in life that we often ignore or dismiss because they don’t necessarily stand out and seem irrelevant. Yet, these are the very realities and learning experiences that often occur through soft-spoken moments and subtle nuances… Those delicate whispers of life.
Secrets of A Weepin Willow was also sparked by this revelation and serves as a definitive reminder of the harsh realities and experiences life can often bring when we must endure trying times and the many difficulties of loss, struggle, and how we process the pain. Either by transforming it into a valuable learning lesson and experience or allowing it to negatively manifest and impact our take on life – which can often trigger emotions that drive us toward a mindset of resentment or lead us on a path of self discovery. All depending on the way we choose to react and respond to our conditions, circumstances and environment. Over time, I have developed a resilience to use negativity as a catalyst and transform it into a positive outcome.
Journey of A Thousand Miles was influenced by and encompasses the multiple ways that different people from various walks of life comprehend and perceive what happens to them and how they deal with it, according to their perspective. Their outlook, frame-of-mind and the power it has to shape their life.
My writing routine consists of a unique thought pattern that often changes, dependent upon the type of writing or topic that I am embracing. I have learned to write through disarray, joy and pain.
Revisiting my earlier comment, over time I have developed the tactic of infusing the bleak, unfavorable and favorable instances of life into a constructive premise that has the ability to alter and persuade my characters in a way that often shifts the foundation and dynamics of the human experience.
Suffering and the courage and power that lies in growth, overcoming and surviving the many trials often endured in life. Thus by doing so, I truly believe that this underpinning offers not only a relatable connection, but also a certain understanding and healing experience through my characters and ultimately for my readers.
All of my characters hold a dear and favorite spot in my heart, although a particular favorite who also embodies these themes most profoundly – I must admit is Ralph, of Whispers In The Wind. The main character and protagonist who is one of the most intriguing and thought-provoking, multi-dimensional characters that I have ever written or encountered. His character just suddenly welcomed himself into the plot and theme of this work like I have never experienced in a character before. And in such a profound way.
The story actually seemed to write itself and he led the way as he literally walked silently through the plot and often shocked me as the writer. I actually had no idea what was about to happen next. I was sitting on the edge of my seat and just as shocked as the reader while he guided me through the entire process and plot…. gently walking through my mind like a quiet storm.
